Alex Delit Garcia is a self-taught 2-D Animator and cartoonist who has been creating award -winning digital illustrations and animations since the age of 12.
Dubbed “The Animator and Cartoonist,” all through her school years, the following is a list of her achievements and awards:
- Created her first animated music video in 8thgrade which won her 3 Community Awards.
- At 15, volunteered to illustrate the child safety activity book “Let’s All Be Safe Together” for A Child Is Missing Alert Program, which helps kids learn through her cartoons to stay safe and fight against bullying. 10k copies were published and given to K-2 age kids during summer camp across Florida.
- Was honored with plaques and certificates by 4 Mayors and 7 Police Chiefs across South Florida along with their Child Abduction Teams for her work in the activity book.
- Won 1st Place and Full Tuition to Dawson Animation Camp from submitting a 10 second animation short competing against 100 HS students across Florida.
- As the HS CTV digital cartoonist, she was asked to animate to a “SLAM Hate Crime Poem,” which won her a Florida Scholastic Press Association award ranking her All-Florida Top 5%.
She is currently working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Central Florida, with aspirations to become a Pediatric Art Therapist.
